The past couple of weeks I’ve been reflecting a lot about self empowerment.

To have faith, courage and trust in yourself. Simply to be empowered by you.

Somehow people seem to doubt themselves every day all day, and I’ve been doing so

myself too – don’t get me wrong, I still do, but after realizing this and thinking about it a

lot, I’m seeing improvement.

Our grandparents, parents, siblings, children, best friends – even the thousands of strangers that cross your path daily,

doubt themselves. Judge themselves. Discourage themselves.

And it’s happening heartbreakingly often.

We get our hopes up for the things we strive so hard to complete with perfection, and if

the outcome isn’t exactly what we had in our mind, we feel let down and frustrated.

But looking at it from a different perspective, couldn’t it be that it just became greater,

bigger, better by your personal ‘’failure’’? That the little touch of silliness and impatience,

gave a better and more real finished product?

As people we are simply strange looking wildflowers.

We grow, with everything we are, and we strive to become greater.

We try so hard to fit in, that we forget what our petals were going to look like in the first

place, had we just accepted ourselves the way we were planned to be.

A lily can struggle to become a violet but waste it’s life in a purple shadow, or it can

discover all it’s own white wonder, and bloom.

And just like that, we can forever walk in someone elses footsteps; act like them, be

like them, be recognized as someone similar to that other person, and spend eternity

being lost in a shadow.

We could also love the skin that we grew, believe in who we are, and bloom.

‘’In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth, or to step back into safety’’

-Abraham Maslow

Wishing you a wonderful week
